A friendly reminder to Canadians (older than 18 years, May ’11) to vote today from 9:30am to 9:30 pm. Not sure where to vote? No problem, check out Elecations Canada website.
I look forward to following lively election chat on ‘The Twitter’ tonight. If you are new to Twitter, you might want to try these hashtags for updates #elxn41 #cdnpoli. Be careful with Twitter and Facebook, since posting election results may be illegal.
Here are a few tweets that caught my eye from this morning’s stream.
@OntariosPressSecs - Despite political differences Canadians celebrate our democracy & a desire for a better future
@kristinglas - Vote, check. No line. Thankful I live in a country where an election is peaceful and honest.
@iamsteveh - I just did what millions can’t do, voted.
@anucleardevice - I hope you all go out and vote today! You can’t complain if you don’t!
@crazycomposer - Remember to #VOTE today in #Elxn41 – don’t let apathy make you believe your voice won’t make a difference: It Will!
@baldjam – I really don’t know what tomorrow night will bring. Though I am really reminded of the 1990 Ont election. Who knows, eh?
Let’s see what tomorrow brings, Canada.

I like that you didn’t plug a particular party. I try and stay off Facebook during election times. I can’t stand knowing my friends/co-workers political views.
Thank you. I didn’t feel the need to promote my affiliation with the Rinoceros party.
Granted that my knowledge of Canadian politics is almost two decades old but what, what, what happened to the Liberals?????
Hello LGS! Oh gosh, I cannot explain it since I’m still trying to process it all. What a crazy time in Canadian politics! So you were in Canada during the Trudeau/Turner years?
I am a big fan of Trudeau. I know he was no saint but yet I think he was a true statesman and a great federalist (Canada may be in parts if it wasn’t for his dogged efforts). However, I was in Canada at the time of Mulrooney (my goodness, I even got to shake his hand when I visited the Parliament; I had no trouble washing my hands later) and was there to witness the rise of Chretein.
I did not realize you lived in Canada for such a long time. Those were exciting times in Canada. I grew up with a Mom that liked Trudeau and Dad, a staunch Mulroney supporter. I think many Canadians are hoping his son Justin will run for PM one day. Maybe you might move back to Canada?
