Ten and WOW

by Mindful Merchant on October 16, 2011

Have you heard of Ta‘Kaiya Blaney? I had not until reading about her inspiring work on We Canada’s blog. Ta‘Kaiya is a Sliammon First Nations singer, songwriter and actor. She is also concerned about the environment, marine and coastal wildlife. She is also TEN years old and amazing. Have a listen…

A young person doing such impressive and unexpected things is so inspiring. It makes me more hopeful for the future.

Oh land who allowed the first people of GreenPeace to come out of the shell and walk upon the world. Be very proud of your peoples who live as a mosaic of cultures, colors and creeds and in harmony with each other and with Mother Nature (at least for the most part but can you do us all a favour and get rid of your current conservative pro-consumerism capitalistic government). Let the pure voices of those like Ta’Kaiya be heard.

Thanks for this stirring post.

So glad you enjoyed her music and message. I’m afraid I cannot do anything about our majority government, my squirrel friend. :(

It’s so inspiring to read about young people becoming leaders. Too often, kids, teens, and even young adults don’t join movements, whether green or otherwise, because they can’t relate to the movements’ leaders. When young people take a stand, they inspire others their own age. This is so great. Ta’Kaiya has an incredible voice.

Yes, this is really inspirational especially because of the children group and the lead girl. The tune is also very sweet to listen.

Thank you all
